Day 9: Things I'm Grateful For

Aaaaand I'm back for another week's blog on "Things I'm grateful for!" Hope you all had an amazing week...

Okay I'll get straight to the topic. I feel really grateful for having my mom, dad and brother, which is more than many kids can say. Of course I'm really lucky to have all my relatives- Aunts, Uncles, Cousins who always encourage everything I do. I also feel really lucky that I have been able to keep in touch with them over the vast distances we are separated by. Once in a sleepover, a couple of friends of mine and I were talking about this very topic, and one of my friends said that though she had both sets of grandparents and a great-grandmother (like me), she did not feel extremely lucky. That incident has left a mark on me until now.

Next up are, quite obviously, my friends. I've always made friends pretty easily, as I know a lot of stories about people from all over the world which make most people laugh. Again, thanks to my relatives and friends from across the world, I can relate to other people's stories, making us instant friends. Most of the time, my friends soon get to know me really well, and wherever I go, I could always call on them for something. That is one thing I am really grateful for.

The next most important thing to me is that I can go to school. One in five people in the world is illiterate, with two-thirds being women. I feel really grateful that I can read and write, for what would I do without books? I am also grateful for all the other things I can do, like singing, dancing and drawing. Without these, I wouldn't be me, so for them I'm grateful.

Here's something to think about.
Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. ~ Melody Beattie
On that note, see ya next Saturday!
