Hey, sorry for the late post, I didn't have any time in the morning.
You know, everyone has that one friend that never has any relationships or anything, but still gives the best love advice? Well, I'm that friend. Practically everyone comes to me with lots and lots of problems, and I almost always solve them...with the same solution every single time. So, naturally, I've heard a lot of different perspectives on 'love', and I've had loads of interesting conversations with people about their perspectives.
Till today, I've only met one person who agrees with me almost completely about what 'love' is and what it should include. I've heard loads of things about people being 'in love' that are completely nonsensical. Some people say that 'love' is that butterfly feeling in your stomach. It's not, I can tell you that. The butterfly feeling is, in fact completely in your mind. I'm not kidding. People make things up, consciously or unconsciously, just based on things they hear or read. I find this really funny, and I love seeing how different people react when I tell them this.
Another 'definition' of 'love' is the inexplicable one, The one in which people say, "Omg I'm in love with so-and-so but I just can't explain why." That's completely nonsensical too. You CANNOT be in love with someone without knowing why. That br
ings me back to the one person who does have the same perspective as me.
The person (Let's just say X) is one of the only people I've met who doesn't act silly or overwhelmed, and doesn't ask for attention. The basic principle is that you want to be happy, and you know exactly why being with that person makes you happy. You know all the things about the person that she/he doesn't like, but you love them anyway. You have a whole list of reasons for why you love the person, including the most silliest reasons ever. You just can't help smiling when you think about the person, and a text from that person instantly cheers you up.
In short, it's about you. Who makes you happy. That's it. It's really simple, and absolutely everything boils down to that eventually. In fact, everything in the world boils down to you in the end. No matter what happens, the only thing that matters the most is your own happiness and well being, and caring for yourself should always be your top priority. As long as you are happy and comfortable, everything will fall into place. Like I said right in the beginning, I'm kinda the expert here, so take my advice, and go with the infallible instinct that will never let you down.
Just remember, everything happens for a reason. Sometimes you don't want it to, but eventually, you will see the whole picture and be thankful things happened the way they did.
“Love is that condition in which the happiness of another person is essential to your own.”
― Robert A. Heinlein, Stranger in a Strange Land
With that, see you next week.
